A reasonably entertaining adventure story. Not sure it accomplishes everything the author wants from a philosophical standpoint, but it was an easy and fun read.

Bass's "memoir theology" rings true, reminding us of Jesus the friend, teacher, savior, lord, way, and presence. Unsurprisingly, I found her chapter on "way" where she describes being trapped in the world of Calvinist evangelicalism and the painful path leaving it to be particularly resonant.

Hell is... graduate school? Clever and creative storytelling. I enjoyed it.
