I'm sure I read this long ago, but it's an interestingly different read now that I've spent a career in aircraft certification. Crichton's strength is adventure thrillers, but I'll give him credit - he got the cert details pretty much right.

Typical Crichton - take a scientific idea, run with it. Less plot and intensity than his classic novels; one of his weaker efforts.
