God's Homecoming
My review
Wright here fleshes out his view of ultimate things. Not the Platonic view of disembodied souls in an ethereal heaven, but rather God’s domain coming and fully overlapping and restoring this universe. Wright’s prose is clear as usual, and sparkles when he drops his occasional brilliant illustration. However, his ultimate answer to “what happens after you die and before the resurrection?” is weak and hand-wavy, and he completely avoids any discussion of the fate of the unbeliever. Ultimately I came away from the book unsatisfied.
